Seattle Foodtopia

One of the many reasons I love Seattle, is that Seattle is to food what Indiana is to corn.  Last night I had another experience that made me love the city even more.  I attended the Foodpurtunity.  Yes, I think it is a silly name, but it was a great event.  Just a bunch of people from the local food scene getting together, sampling some food, and having fun.

The event included anyone involved in or even interested in food (who paid the entry fee).  So it included everyone from Tom Douglas and Thierry Rautureau (the chef in the hat) to people who just recently started food blogs.  I saw Molly Moon and met Kurt Beecher Dammeier.  I met cool couple, Gage and Jen from Modern Species, a sustainable graphic design studio.  It was great to see people so proud of their products, like Alyson from Mt Townsend Creamery.  They have a cheese washed with Pike Brewery Kilt Lifter scotch ale that they were sampling.  I just happened to be drinking that same delicious beverage.  The two together were sublime!

It was also great to be there talking about the products I make wearing my other had at Honest Biscuits.  A few people actually recognized the name and said that they had read about us.  Who knows, next time I might be on the other side of one of the many sample tables.

Even without all the networking, it was a great chance to sample amazing food from great local restaurants I have been wanting to try like Local 360, the Coterie Room, and Inn at Langley.  I certainly will be quicker to sign up last time because this even sold out.
